In my second series of exploring different materials. I looked at using glass as a way of creating highly delicate vessels, to play around with the softness of this harsh and clear material. The result is the creation of these highly organic forms, each no more than 5 cm.

The vessels in their thicknesses diffuse the light to create this 'shadow' of distorted light
Many vessels were made, but in the process of making, quite a few broke resulting in only 3 vessels surviving intact. These pieces are highly delicate and prone to breakage.

Each of the vessels were inspired by 17th century glass drinking vessels in the way that the foot travels up towards the spout
The process of making the glass required an oxygen torch to manipulate a rod of pure glass into a small tube that could then be individually manipulated by heating, blowing and cooling.
